Opening and Closing Times
School doors open at 8:40 a.m., and school begins at 8:50 a.m. Extended Care: Operated by the YMCA. Available before and after school. Your child must be registered to attend. Information is available in the main office.
Abbreviated Days
Run from 8:40 a.m. until 1:40 p.m. Abbreviated days may occur before certain school holidays, and for Curriculum Thursdays. Families will be notified before an abbreviated day and they also appear on the district and monthly school calendars.
Absences
If you know in advance that your child will be absent on a certain date, please inform the teacher. You may request make-up work at that time. If your child is ill, call the school at (973)509-4255 in the morning and inform the secretary.
School Tardiness Policy
Our school doors open at 8:40 a.m. and classes begin at 8:50 a.m. It is important for your child to arrive on time. Regular attendance and promptness are essential to maintaining expected academic growth.
Morning meetings and class routines that take place in all of our classrooms are particularly important to set the tone and structure of the school day. Your child's involvement in this routine will help him or her feel included in the daily classroom structure.
Late arrivals disrupt these activities and lessons in progress, delay critical interactions with peers and compromise our children's participation in school-wide community-building activities. It is therefore vital that your child arrive on time.
Please know that we are willing to work with you to develop morning routines which work for your family. This is one more step toward building our community.
