CHB celebrated the holidays throughout the month infusing fun projects with educational lessons. A bulletin board on the first floor features all the holidays that take place in December with a brief description of each one so that students can learn more about them.

One second grade student’s parents came to class to teach students about Hannukah. And local author Nancy Arny Pi-Sunyer read her book "Mousekin’s Twelve Days of Christmas.”

It was the 67th day of school so the CHB staff took the opportunity to surprise students during Spirit Week to creatively incorporate all things 6-7 into the day’s activities.

Spirit Week also included Holiday Sweater Day and PJ Day, a favorite among students and staff.

Throughout the hallways, winter and holiday displays could be found. Our Kindergarteners learned about shapes by building gingerbread men.

Third graders have been learning their multiplication facts, and creating these gingerbread house array grids helped them.

Other displays included brightly colored “sweater weather” cutouts and Hanukkah lights with special messages of kindness. And a hot cocoa display provided step by step instructions.

Not holiday-related, art teacher Laura Bonvini had each grade participate in making individual concentric circles that will become a large display.
